AudioScape is proud to introduce our much anticipated Eurorack-format Buss Compressor, EuroBuss. The Buss Comp is, of course, our take on the classic VCA bus compressor first introduced as an integral part of a legendary British recording console introduced in 1976. For years we’ve been asked to please, please, please offer the Buss Comp in a format that is compatible with the Eurorack standard, and at the 2024 annual synthesizer supershow in Berlin, SUPERBOOTH24, that’s just what we did.
This classic VCA compressor, the sound of so many giant recordings, is now available as an 18HP Eurorack module.
The EuroBuss has all of the same features and controls as the 19” rack version, including stereo I/O and left/ right side-chain access. The EuroBuss even adds an indispensable feature for modular synth enthusiasts, a threshold CV input. It can accept Eurorack Signal Level as well as Line Level. It's essentially the same as our standard buss comp packed into eurorack format parts wise. It integrates perfectly in a modular setup as well.
Eurorack has become the preeminent format for hardcore analog synthesists and AudioScape’s EuroBuss adds yet another amazing color to the Eurorack palette.

Introducing EuroBuss
The EuroBuss compressor is our celebrated Buss Comp VCA-compressor built into an 18HP Eurorack module. It features exclusive functionality necessary for use in a modular synthesizer setup. The EuroBuss has all of the same features and controls as the 19” Buss Comp, including stereo I/O and left/ right side-chain access, plus a threshold CV input.
Just like the Buss Comp, THAT Corp VCAs sit at the heart of our EuroBuss. Also, by employing a true stereo sidechain design (just like the original), the EuroBuss is capable of creating some great effects when used with an LFO, or strapped across percussive patches.
While we usually prefer a pure approach to our legacy recreations, and try to keep them as true to the originals as possible, we have incorporated a switchable 160 Hz high-pass filter into the side-chain of the EuroBuss. Simply put, this additional feature allows low-end dominant material to pass through the compressor without triggering compression, while everything above 160 Hz is compressed as usual. Sub-heavy kick drum patches, growling basslines and massive pads, etc. retain their aggressiveness and punch without sacrificing the overall clarity of your mix.
Hand-crafted one at a time at our factory in Daytona Beach, Florida, each EuroBuss is hand-built by the same team at AudioScape that builds the 19” rack-mounted Buss Comp.

Update: We have received a few questions about whether this unit has the “Turbo Mod” as it's known in the DIY world. The Turbo Mod uses an external sidechain board to make a GSSL (and others) “true stereo”. The BUSS COMPRESSOR already has what would be considered the “Turbo Mod”; inherently integrated. Our exclusive, custom circuit board completely and accurately recreates the original console compressor and as such, no mods or “add-ons” are necessary. As a result of faithfully reproducing the original’s circuit, we don’t have to fuss with extra mod boards, wires, etc. which can sometimes subtly degrade sonics, performance and reliability.
