It’s the same circuitry as the standard version EQP-A, complete with all the NOS tubes and carbon composition resistors, but in the Mastering Edition the EQ section features all precision rotary switches; stepped pots instead of continuously variable pots.
The rotary switches are more precise and offer exact repeatability, a must in mastering EQs.
We even went one step further with these rotary switches in an effort to retain the original look of the EQP-A. The stepped boost and cut controls are custom-made 21 position switches, not some “off the shelf” switches. This allows us to maintain the look of the original front panel without looking cluttered, or just straight up weird.
Pretty darn cool!
Each EQP-A Mastering Edition will be given its own unique serial number that designates it as a true AudioScape “Mastering Edition” unit.

It’s not ‘technically’ a new product release, but instead an update on a current product we offer. When we update designs for a product we want to make it possible for anyone who’s bought the previous version to be able to convert what has changed. Or to have a trade-in program in place to get the latest version. This is important for us; you’ve been the biggest part of our growth. We’re not aiming to be the company that makes 30 versions of the same product and leave their supporters behind by releasing a new model each year. As we say around the shop:
